Uni Life
Well, I've officially started Uni now. Attending lectures. No tutorials in the first week. Note that there is a time lag with the present and the posts in my blog. Important note. :) Probably not much fun events anymore. So don't hope to see much more on my blog besides random rantings of myself.
Anywayz, here are the subjects that I am currently enrolled in for the first semester.
1. Accounting For Decision Making
2. Principles of Microeconomics
3. Financial Institutions and Markets ( or something like that )
4. Psychology 1A
Yep, 2 core subjects and 2 electives. First year u get 2 electives. Marketing does have a considerable amount of space for electives anyway. I have 13 contact hours per week. That's like 3-4 hours a day. ( I don't go to Uni on Weds, its my holiday )
Well, things are different now. Which is y my post title is Uni Life. Here's a feel facts that I've noticed by myself :
1. I am in Uni now !!! No more college, no more high school, Uni !! I'm a Uni Student. I got a Uni ID Card to prove it !! Hahaha..........ok........erm.......
2. I now attend lectures in lecture halls !!! Big lecture halls with hundred over students. No more small classrooms.
3. I don't sleep during lessons. Lessons are actually important. No more crap subjects like Moral in college or History of Islam. You have much more inspiration and incentive than just studying for the sake of studying. ( This is just the early year on fire mode. It'll die down later in the year and I'll start sleeping in lectures. Trust me. )
4. The lecturer doesn't care about u. No more nagging lecturers that scold u if you are late, if you don't do your homework or if you're not listening. Heck, they don't even know your name. Which actually makes you do your homework.
5. No more crap factions like way back in high school. I remember the "cool" people sit on one table, the "geeks" sat in one table and the Mat Rocks one the other table. I guess we grow up in Uni. There is no cool. I mean with people coming from all over the world with different backgrounds and cultures what is the point of discriminating ? Everybody can be your friend. Though this doesn't mean that communication is easy. Just that u don't look at people and stereotype and say "I'm not going to talk to that kind of guy". Which is good. RESPECT.
6. I now live on my OWN !! Just me managing my daily time. Everything has to be arranged by me. Though u may have friends and all and hostel mates but ultimately all decisions come down to you. Somehow u get a great feeling when u are independant. Its a proud feeling. Though my room is in a mess most of the times, but u do still feel proud. No more parents to bug me .(I still love them but they can be a pain in the butt sometimes, I'm sure every teenager out there gets what I mean.) So what if I make mistakes ? Mistakes make u who u are to do. Mistakes are the best way for u to learn. You get to make your own timetable. You get to pick your own subjects. Everything on your own.
7. I don't have a car. I walk like everywhere everyday. Boo hoo.............. I miss my car. And my dog................my poor doggy who's going to be so lonely now. Which I just notice, I don't refer to my dog as "it" but "he". Awww.............
8. People that play DoTA here are not that good. TSEN CAI if u see this. You are going to own them totally .................hahaha...........
9. Money is a real issue here. You really have to budget well or else you will end up broke. There are no more backups here. No parents to ask for extra money. And if you ask them for more money they're gonna be pissed. Its 3 times the Malaysian ringgit by the way. THings here are really expensive. So u have to fight the temptation to buy things.
Well, its my first week. I'll probably post more of this next time. Still quite inexperienced with Uni Life. So long.
